VietNam

Project Outreach has maintained an ongoing connection with out colleagues in DaNang Vietnam over the years.  In 2017 we were invited to return to Vietnam. We worked with the health care team at Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital.  Our patients came from the remote villages in the central mountains of Vietnam.  The majority of our young patients were malnourished, and anemic. Our mission involved surgery for cleft lip/palate repair and pediatric urology procedures.  

We worked closely with our local health care colleagues and the Smile of Compassion Charity.  We have an ongoing commitment to our colleagues in Da Nang. We returned in 2018 and in 2023.  Please enjoy our video (above) of our Pediatric Burn Mission May 2023.

Project Outreach now has a relationship with the Phan Chau Trinh Medical School and Research Centre (PCTU).  We sponsored 2 senior medical students for a one month clinical experience in Calgary in July 2024.

In September 2024 along with HealthcareSIM Dynamics, Project Outreach provided an intensive 5 day educational seminar on the Fundamentals of Effective Simulation based learning to 40 medical, nursing and allied health care providers.

We will be returning to Vietnam in 2025 to provide another educational seminar on Medical Simulation.
